The Next Time I’m in Paris
I enjoyed Paris so much, I already know I’m going back…hopefully sooner rather than later. Their culture fascinates me and there’s much to see and do! The next time I’m in Paris, I plan to:
- Stay in the Latin Quarter
- Go clubbing on Ave des Champs-Élysées
- See the show Moulin Rouge
- Visit Château de Versailles
- See a fashion show
- Spend an entire day exploring small shops and cafes in non-touristy areas
- Lace up the Asics and go for a run along the River Seine
I read that Paris is only 6 miles wide. *mind racing with ideas* All I need is a reason. Hmm…maybe I should plan another trip when I’m ready to run my first 10+ mile race! How’s that for a double-edged incentive? :-)

Have you read the Fabulous Financials comment policy lately?

Hi. I have just started running road races and while they’re great to do on weekends with friends in the city, I think adding one to your traveling plans is a fabulous idea (especially cause you’d be in Paris!). My friends and I are thinking about traveling to Vegas to run a challenging race, and we all live on the east coast, but the idea of taking part in a very physical activity in a different location with a different community of people makes it more than just another run (and will keep the partying in check!).
I’m glad you enjoyed your trip and I applaud you as a woman, mother, and black woman for venturing abroad and falling in love with a different culture- not only have you changed your daughter’s world view, you’ve now been bitten by the world traveler bug!
P.S. Have you removed your “Healthy” links and other fitness related items from the site on purpose? I believe the direction you were going in to include this new focus showed how health/fitness is an inevitable part of the greater financial picture if you’re serious about being fit.

I’m also in love in Paris and try to go there as often as I can. I like staying in the quartier latin, and while the touristy area around the Sorbonne is nice, and closer to the river and shops, the eastern part which is more residential is also full of charm. There are a lot of smaller hotels in that area and a lot of everyday shops like bakeries, cheese shops etc… For example, try googling place monge, paris and check out the street view.
