Prayer Journal Message of the Week #6

I chose today’s prayer journal entries because I need to stop slacking and return to my roots.  I know I can’t succeed without God as my foundation, my guiding light when I stray and need to get back on track, my strength and support in the face of adversity, my confidante when I need someone to listen, and my biggest cheerleader when I accomplish a goal.  Lord, I thank you for everything I am and everything I hope to be.  Throughout this journey of becoming healthy & fit, through all the ups and the downs, I will continue to praise your name.

Prayer Journal Message: Jesus faced many terrible experiences in His lifetime.  The Bible tells of many incidents where crowds of people sought to kill our Lord.  Whenever the pressures got too great, Jesus withdrew and spent time in prayer.  That is an important lesson for us to learn.  There will be times when the pressures build up while we try to lose weight.  When the pressures get too much for us to handle, we should turn tot he Lord in prayer.  He will comfort us, strengthen us, and give us the courage we need to face every new day.

Prayer Journal Message: We went around the circle, telling about the diet plans we had tried.  Most of the people said they had no luck, no matter what they tried.  I was the only one who had succeeded in losing a considerable amount of weight.  Everyone looked expectantly toward me when my time came.  I smiled shyly and said, “The only thing that I did differently from any of you was to pray.  I didn’t trust any of the diet plans I saw, so I turned to God, instead.  You all can try what you want to, but as for me, I’m going to keep putting my faith in God…”

Related Scripture: As for me, I will call upon God; and the Lord shall save me. Psalm 55:16

Today’s Thought: When all else fails, try God!

I hope you all have a wonderful week.  Happy 2nd day of Spring!

I hate how I need to let everything fail to try God! I know He sits back and is like, if only she’d turn to me! I like your approach of walking with God through it all…not just asking Him to join you when you’re deep in something!

I’ve been slacking on my daily devotions. Thanks for the reminder because this busy time at work is when I need it the most.

By sharing your journey, not just the successes, but the challenges too, you’ve definitely inspired me. I’m ready to take hold of this beast and put some consistency in my life. Thanks for reminding us that God has to be in the midst of it all!
