Major Fitness Milestone

I did it! I did it! I did it!

Today I completed Week 5 Day 3 of C25K.  I’m so excited because it was my first day with ALL running and NO intervals – no walking breaks at all.  That means I ran for 20 minutes (1.6 miles) without stopping.  This is a first.  A major fitness milestone.  It’s huge.  I mean HUGE.  I. ran. for 20 minutes. WITHOUT STOPPING! OMG I did it! GO ME!!

What can be said after a post like that… NOTHING! Go you! :-)

btw, your excitement motivated me to run today. I read your tweet, and changed right into my running clothes. I ran only 2 miles, but all because of your contagious excitement for running.

Congratulations on the 20 min run!! I did the C25K in 2006 to become a runner and I remember the first time I ran 20 minutes straight without stopping.

I just wanted to mention because this has helped me, when you become a runner if you drink water the day before your run, you feel better when running the next day. (I was just reading your earlier post about not trying to drink x amount of water.)

I notice when I don’t drink water throughout the day, the next day when I run I feel stiff. Hope this helps!

Either you read it out of context or didn’t read the entire paragraph because immediately after that statement about not forcing myself to drink xx oz of water (i.e. the unscientifically proven minimum requirement of 64 oz/day), I also said:

“In any given day, I drink between 20-30 oz and that’s good enough for me. I will continue drinking only water (with green tea on occasion) because I reserve my daily calorie intake for FOOD.”

Nowhere did I say I will stop drinking water.

Congrats! I am working on this plan as well. I haven’t gotten that far yet, but I can’t wait until I do. Keep up the good work!

      Congratulations!

I remember being sooo nervous when I saw that C25K jumped from intervals to a full on run. It was completely do-able though as long as I paced myself.

You’ll be hitting that full 5K in no time!
