Food for Thought

“The miracle isn’t that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start.” -John Bingham

This can apply to your finance or your fitness goals.  So if you have resolved to improve something this year, don’t worry about how bad things may be right now, just get started.  And have a FABULOUS day!

I love that quote and the new look.

On the days when I can’t finish my run, I’m inclined to get down on myself. But then I remind myself that I am doing something that others (because of my knees and feet) told me I couldn’t do. And because certain doctors told me I shouldn’t run, I was convinced I couldn’t do it. Now, I thank God for the courage to try.

I’m glad to see that you’ve decided to continue blogging, it is a gift, thank you for sharing:)
When doubt sets in, or you get discouraged remember YOU CAN DO IT, because you did it with your finances. The same basic principles that you used to get your finances in order are the same for getting healthy and fit. Just think about it… set goals, develop a plan, and do something. Remember that it is a life changing process and cannot happen overnight. Poor health and consumer debt both sneak up on us, but we can win the battle once we set our mind to it.
In the road block post , you asked questions about staying on track, when you have the answers yourself. Change fitness to finance, how would you have responded to your Financial Blog readers?
You don’t have to start over, jut pick up where you left off, go back and do week 4 again to regain your confidence. Also, I didn’t see if you have a running buddy/ies but that really helps ALOT!

No I don’t have a running buddy, but I do have LOTS of support from friends and family. When I’m starting something new, I need to go it alone. I need private time to prepare mentally, process my thoughts, and conquer setbacks. Once I’ve gained a little momentum (i.e. est. about another month or so), a running buddy will be helpful to continue improving. [-SM]

John Bingham is very inspiring. He has a book that came out about 10 years ago? Short and easy read. He also has a column in Runner’s World. Just thought you may be interested….

Also, like everyone else, I’m happy to see that you’ve continued to blog. I enjoy reading.
