Closing Another Chapter
Yesterday was my last day on the J-O-B. It wasn’t bitter; it wasn’t sweet. IT FELT GREAT! I can’t believe I’m about to begin a new phase in my career that most people didn’t think was possible. As you advance above your peers, you learn who your real friends and trusted colleagues are. I just shake my head and laugh at all others. “No time for fake ones…” LOL!
I haven’t played the game for long, but I’m a damn good study! And I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for me.
It’s going to be FABULOUS!

Good luck. Actually I shouldnt say that, because from what I can tell you have never relied on luck. Instead of waiting things for things to happen for you, you make them happen for you. You are truly an inspriation. So instead of saying good luck, I’ll say- keep makin it happen girl!

“As you advance above your peers, you learn who your real friends and trusted colleagues are.”
you’re so right about this statement. i still struggle with this…i recently had some great feedback from the pres of my division. one thing he told me was i would always have struggles with peers as i continue to advance above them. he said it’s something he has to deal with to this day – the feelings associated with his advancement as others don’t and the respect factor.
i just love reading what you share about your career. it’s so helpful…i get such great INdirect coaching from you!

Dear SingleMa,
I’ve been a longtime reader (or I guess you can say “lurker” since I’ve never commented) of your blog and I just wanted to say that you are such an inspiration to me. Your background/circumstances didn’t stop you from going after the things you wanted and succeeding tremendously. I admire you so much and have so much respect for you.
Of course, CONGRATULATIONS on starting your new job soon. I’m definitely feeling kinda the same as you since I’ve just recently started college. (I’m actually in DC for college!)
I just wanted to finally leave a comment and tell you how much I appreciate your blogging–I know you’ve been thinking about stopping or at least updating less often, and how much I hope that you’ll continue to do so, even though you’ve probably got a ton more responsibilities now and therefore not as much free time. But thanks for everything you do!
