Maintain Fabulous Financials: #5 Live Fabulously

The fifth and final step to maintain Fabulous Financials is to live fabulously.

Owning “stuff” eventually loses its appeal, so my definition of “living fabulously” is experiencing new things and creating memories with loved ones that will last forever.  For example, over the course of my lifetime, I want to visit every state in the U.S.  Within the next year, I plan to explore Europe (specifically Paris and London).  In the immediate future, I want to go skiing and/or ice skating for my birthday in December.  Last year, I became a wine connoisseur amateur but I’m still learning.  And I love the mommy/daughter days I spend with BabyGirl every month.  Whatever I decide to do, I can afford to do it without hesitation or remorse.

Living fabulously also involves taking care of YOU.  On the inside - good food (and wine lol), regular exercise, and a personal connection to your higher being.  On the outside - your appearance, hair, nails, and skin should have a place on your priority list.  When you look good (inside and out), you feel good.  And when you feel good, it’s easy to live fabulously.

I know all of these things cost money, but this step is the ultimate reward.  So if you’ve mastered steps 1 through 4, you’ve earned your right to live the fabulous life!

Are you living a fabulous life?  If not, what’s holding you back?

Definitely living the fabulous life. My motto (well one of them) is Work Hard, Play Hard…Praise even Harder! I like! [-SM]

I must admit that I wasn’t until I paid down my debt. I was almost at the finish line when I started doing things like traveling. It was also that year that I first got season tickets to my football team. My newest obsession is my health, so this year I got a gym membership a Wii with Wii Fit, a heart rate monitor, and bought some cute workout clothes.

I also have plans to visit every state in the USofA, Greece and Italy. Skiing and rock climbing are on my list for adventure. Are you another one of my sisters from the other mister? LOL I’ve seen your pics from Africa and I was greeeeeeeeeen with envy! [-SM]

Life is meant to be lived abundantly and Single Ma, you are an example of how fabulous life can be when we have our finances in order.

My debt is holding me back. I plan on getting rid of all consumer debt in 2009. Let the fabulous life begin.

Great series! I think it charts the journey everyone needs to go through to start living fabulously and document your journey.

Although this is my first post, I’ve been reading your blog for about 1.5 years now and I just wanted to say thanks for being an inspiration. When you are younger, it’s not easy making that mental switch from spending money you (don’t) have on designer handbags to setting up an E-fund / starting to invest. Reading your site always shows me how fabulous financial freedom is.

Good post. Made me think about what is really holding me back. I’m really not sure. I’ve been reading your blog for about 2 yrs now…and I can finally say I am in a better place financially. I’m not so sure I live life to the fullest.

I’m living well. Not fabulously, yet, but well. What am I waiting for? The foundation - a home of my own, a banging e-fund, AND no adjustable rate debt. I’m still not quite there yet, but I’m so very close. In the meantime, I did take that trip to New Orleans this year, and I got my first massage! I’m supposed to be going back to Miami and New Orleans in ‘09. And I think my wedding will be low-budget so I can use my passport to travel abroad for my honeymoon.
