Mommy and Daughter Bonding Time

What it do blogger fam?
I haven’t been in the mood for blogging this week. I guess it’s because my BabyGirl is back home and we spend all evening just talking and reconnecting. For the past few nights, I haven’t gone to bed until after midnight because I’ve tried to give her my undivided attention until she goes to bed. Then I’m left with a laundry list of things to do before I can turn in.
Also, with school back in session, we haven’t re-adjusted to our regular routine yet. We’ve both been getting up late and rushing off to work/school in the morning. I forgot that she had to be picked up by 6pm on Wednesday night, so she had to bum a ride. Oops! I was still in summer work mode, gotta leave on time now. I also forgot to tell her good luck on her job interview yesterday. *smh* Geez, a summer off and I forgot how to be a responsible mom. LOL But no worries, I’ll get it together soon.
Until then, here’s some interesting reading for ya:
Top 10 Best Stores for Fashion on a Budget @ College Fashion
I just discovered this blog last week and many of the articles are very good quality. Even if you’re not part of the intended target audience, college students, it’s still worth a look-see. As for the top 10 best stores for fashion on a budget, I agree with the selection. However, my #1 would have been Ross Dress for Less. Me love Ross!

I think this article pairs well with the one above. More practical solutions to get on track financially and bring harmony to your financial life. Personal finance is not complex. It’s only as hard as you make it. Emulate these habits and you may find financial peace as well.

Some people just get in their own way. If you are one of them, this article is a must read. If any of these things apply to you - STOP. NOW! Most of you already know how goal oriented I am, but I’ll admit, I’ve suffered from some of these obstacles before. It isn’t easy to do, but I had to work really hard to manage them because obtaining my goals is a wonderful feeling.
Attention Ladies, Saving Money Tops the List of Frugal Male Turn Ons @ Frugal Dad
Now it’s very possible that ‘frugal’ dad is a little biased, but who am I to say - he’s a man so he should know what turns men on. Y’all better check it out. If this article doesn’t make you laugh (or at least give you something to think about), I’m sure the next one will.
Listen Up Females, This Man is Talking @ Washington Post
A gentleman by the name of Dante Moore has written a book for the ladies, titled “The Re-Education of the Female” Hmm…interesting…read the article and tell me your thoughts.

Great list of articles–thanks for including me! I particularly enjoyed the one from Millionaire Mommy Next Door!
Reconnecting is time well spent! How’d the interview go?
Glad you are enjoying your time with BG. Enjoy.
I read the Washington Post article. I don’t think I will run out and buy the book. Somehow, I think I prefer my relationship to the one this author proposes. Call me crazy. *shrug*
Thanks for the other articles. They look interesting.
Dante Moore is a danger to humanity. I want to know how much those women on the cover were paid to share space with him. Not enough, I’m thinking.
I cook just fine. I keep my weight reasonable (a size 16 on a five foot five frame). I try to lose weight, but it is difficult with my thyroid problem. I don’t wear sexy things around the house.
I think I look average.
I never, ever, ever have problems finding a man!
If I run into one as shallow as this, I ignore him and go to the next guy. His philosophy is one sided.
The title of this book suggests a very clever marketing ploy to generate interest and sell copies. However, this viewpoint is representative of the author’s and perhaps some men (probably younger or more immature than my taste allows), and not the general male population. Women with high self-esteem do not need this book and quite honestly, may even be offended by much of it. And not by his opinions per se, but by his audacity to encourage women to evaluate themselves and question their worthiness if they’re without a mate. Personally, this person is not the type of man I’d desire as a mate (domineering and superficial are two adjectives that immediately come to mind), so his book does not interest me.
Thanks for sharing the other blogs.
I have nominated you for the “I Love Your Blog” award!! Check my blog for details!

Dante he is NOT!
you know the real one, who wrote Inferno and stuff-I dont think this guy is going to win any Pulitzer any time soon.
Damn, them two-him and his “exclusive” girlfriend -deserve each other. She needs a reality check-this Dante will never be happy with any woman. Those damn excuses about sexy lingerie and staying skinny all bull, after all is he looking like Lex Steele himself? The answer is NO, and I bet he is not prancing around in Calvin’s like Djimon Hounsou, so he needs to work on his a** first.
Michael Baisden is your man if you want to learn about relationships-he is the MAN.
Here’s a link to an interview w/Dante and a male therapist who wrote Making Love, Playing Power. Pretty much Dante’s theory gets shot down as he contradicts himself to agree with the therapist who states it’s not about gender, but the misuse of power.

Love the articles!
I too am getting back into the swing of Fall/Winter routine. Trying to rush out the house in order to make it to work on time, I neglected to tell the girlchild Happy Birthday! I however did remember when we arrived at daycare. Bad thing is I was carrying 24 cupcakes for her to share with her class. Why on earth did I think I was walking out of the apartment with 24 cupcakes? lol My days seems to be running together. But like you said we will get back into the groove!
