Man I’m Tired!
My internal clock is still off and I can’t seem to find my rhythm.
I stayed home from work on Monday - to sleep.
I was 20 minutes late on Tuesday - overslept.
I was almost an hour late today - wardrobe malfunction.
Considering all the extra hours I usually work, it balances out. But I have an image (and reputation) to uphold so I don’t like being late. I need to get it together.
But wait, another thing. When I’m tired, I spend way too much money.
Breakfast - no time to eat at home because I’m rushing. Oh, I’ll just stop by the cafeteria and get a croissant: $3.69.
Lunch - darn, I didn’t have time to pack anything. I’ll just grab something quick, but I promise to pack lunch tomorrow: $6.34.
To make up for getting to work late, I stay late. This means I have to call the dog sitter to walk my dog before her little bladder explodes. $5/visit.
Dinner - shoot, it’s late and I don’t feel like cooking! Let’s order some takeout: $25 for two.
*Mental Note* Where are all the darn forks?!?! I need to buy more flatware. No, wait. They’re all in the dishwasher. Yea, remember that thing. Duh!
Looking around at the rest of the mess I created during the morning rush.
Add to the mess the next day. And the next…
Too tired to clean. After 3 days, this place looks a mess! Hmm…I need to call that cleaning company again. No wait, I’ll clean up tomorrow - ya know, the day that never comes.
Fugg it, I’m calling that cleaning company: $100.
Three days. ~$200 gone. And I’m still tired!!
Hmph!

I just read my own post and something dawned on me. Maybe the title should have been “man, I’m lazy!”
Ok, that may be true too. LOL!
Do you spend MORE money when you’re tired?

I definitely spend more money eating out when I’m tired. The last thing on my mind is cooking then. What I try (key word try) to do is anticipate when I will be busy/tired and cook the day before. Or else have some homeade frozen food prepared (spagetti sauce, chicken etc) that all I have to do is thaw. It works 33% of the time
Absolutely. I tend to not plan as well when I am tired or stressed, so the almost natural result is spending more money. It is like I resent having to plan my life…good enough that I show up.
I spend less when I am tired.
I just sleep and this way I do not need food or anything.
Once I am well rested I am in a better position to clean and do everything I need to so it works out. However, I do spend more money when I am rested-I have more energy for shopping-food and otherwise. More energy-more on the go-more spending.
YES!!!! this week has been such an off week for me!!! OMG and well yes.. I have bought lunch 3x’s and ONCE WHEN I HAD BROUGHT LUNCH IN.. yeah see I need to regroup!
I can definitely relate. Especially now that school is back in session and I have my full time job to deal with. After class in the evening, I am so tired/stressed sometimes. I don’t stop to shop for groceries when I need to or cook when I get home. I just grab something to eat on the way. I end up spending money getting my car cleaned sometimes too. You have me thinking about finding a cleaning service, lol! I sure am tempted these days… I will be so relieved when I finish my graduate degree. I look forward to a higher salary and more time……
The extra hours at the part-time gig have me spending more on eating out. I haven’t had the time to go grocery shopping since am tired. This weekend though I promise to do that and clean also.
I believe you spend more when your tired because it’s mroe convenient. In my case I think every little bit of sleep counts.
I just have to comment on the $5 pet sitter visit. WOW!!! I pay $17 for a 1/2 hour walk. Amazing.
I sure do spend more when I’m tired/lazy. I eat out more.
SingleMa, I’m having a lazy moment as we speak and I have little ones that are hungry, am I about to cook, absolutely not:) I’m sending my oldest son out to get breakfast:)
So to answer your question, yes, yes, yes, I do spend more when I’m tired/lazy:)
Have a Great Day!
Oh, I forgot Today is my son birthday, his name is Nairobi ( Robi) and he is 7 Today (clapping Hands) I got to get out this tied funk, because he already keep saying “It’s my Birthday”
“It’s My Birthday” like what your sitting there for, Do something…lol
This is exactly why my husband and I save more money with only one of us working. I used to make more than he does!
I spend more money when I have time on my hand. i.e weekends
and this Labor Day weekend going to be really hard not too spend
It took me two (2) weeks to adjust back to CST after our week long vacation in Hawaii back in December. Adjusting to Hawaii time was no problem, it was the coming back that got us.
I don’t think I spend more when I’m tired. But I do spend more when I’m stressed. Because I deserve it. And because my sanity is more important than my finances. Or my girth. Because cookies cure stress. Oh, yes, I am good with the rationalizations.
I spend more $$ when I’m tired, hungry and bored. It’s a shame.
Yes, I spend more when I am tired. I, also, don’t eat well.
absolutely! sometimes a girl just doesn’t wanna raise a finger for anything :P. i think for me, it’s more so about being lazy than tired….i just use tired as an excuse lol.
