Can’t Live Without My MAC
Y’all are gonna think I’m crazy, but that’s ok. I’m gonna tell you anway…
I almost had a heart attack when I lost my lip gloss today. I searched high and low, turned 3 handbags inside out, looked in my car, flipped the pillows on the sofa, searched Precious hiding places, and even accused BabyGirl of using my stuff. When it comes to my M.A.C., she KNOWS better. It’s my only makeup that’s off limits to her grimy little teenage hands.
So after about an hour, I had to accept defeat. Unfortunately, Mr. Eye Candy and I were supposed to have an early dinner at Ruth’s Chris. But honey, I had to postpone that dinner reservation because I needed to make a run. Think I’m playing? Hmph!
[on the phone]
“What’s wrong babe?” he asked.
“Uh, nothing. I just need to do something real quick.” I responded sheepishly.
“Is there anything I can do. You need my help?” in his ‘let papa fix it’ tone.
“Umm, thank you hun, but that’s ok. I can take care of it.” I said, trying to hold back a laugh. I wouldn’t dare admit that I couldn’t meet him for dinner because I lost my lip gloss. LOL
“Ok, well hurry up because I’m hungry.” he said reluctantly, with extra base in his voice.
[dang, dude wasn't playing. HA HA]
“Come on over, it’ll only take me a few minutes. I promise!”
Thank gawd the mall is not too far from my house. I jumped in the car, raced through a few traffic lights and made a beeline for Bloomingdales. Amidst all the glitz and glamour, I was completely oblivious to the fabulous shoes and spring fashions that surrounded me. I caught a glimpse of a cute handbag, but I was on a mission and had only ONE thing on my mind.

Lawdymercy! Let me tell ya something right now. If I were doing a commercial, I would have turned to the camera and winked. LOL That moment was absolutely…PRICELESS! :-D

Honey, it is not Only Single Ma. NoFeartingtheMoney does not leave home without her gloss and has been known to stop the party if in need. Matter of fact, I have a back-up tube at all times in the house! Amazing how you can prioritize your purchases when pressed. LOL
Shoot, I was thinking the same thing because I started to get TWO. I should have a backup in case of another emergency. Dang! And yes honey, the lip gloss is a financial priority. LOL [-SM]
ROFLMAO! While I’ve found acceptable alternatives to a few of their products, there is absolutely no replacing Lipglass. If the closest MAC counter wasn’t 55 miles away I would have definitely done the same thing.

Dang, now I want to try that one too! I loooove MAC and one of the areas I can’t help but splurge is their makeup. Plus, they have lots of shades of foundation and power for everyone. I just started wearing lipgloss a few weeks ago and am loving it! It’s MAC too. Have you ever paired their lip liner, lipstick and gloss? It’s fierce. I found a combo that I reallly think makes me look like beyonce ;) *In my dreams* but it’s awesome.

Yes, I have the lip liner, lipstick and gloss (foundation, blush, concealer, and eye shadow too LOL). I only wear the layers when I’m getting dolled up, but the gloss is an everyday staple – even when I’m just going to the grocery store. LOL It really, really moisturizes my lips. Plus I love the tingly feeling and the tint is extra icing on the cake. [-SM]
OMG…I’m so with you on the title. Somehow my lipglass always seems to get lost and no matter what else is going on, I go to the counter and shell out another $15 plus whatever else may catch my eye…LOL.
I think it’s a conspiracy. They put something in that tube to make us keep coming back for more. [-SM]

I am laughing my butt off because I am wearing my Lipglass right now in Liquid Gold and I just picked up another tube this weekend. As broke as I am, I cannot go without.

I can completely identify with your pain! I lost my MAC eyeliner “Tarnish” about six months ago and tore my house upside down looking for it, I even accused my hubby of throwing it out! I had to go to MAC that night and get a replacement. My new favorite Lipglass is from the Fafi collection called “Squeeze It”, I’ll have to check out your “Oversexed”. MAC is the one thing I cannot live without and financially I’ll do whatever it takes to keep myself in MAC, I own so much that I should have stock in them.

I feel you! I have one tube of MAC gloss in each essential location: drawer at work, make up drawer at home, main purse (bought a set during a lip gloss promotion last year – once of my best purchases yet!). A girl has got to have her essentials!!

So funny – I love my gloss too, but it’s not MAC. My favorite is candy paint by CD (not trying to advertise) and I lost a tube while I was in Vegas. I was tempted to run to Sephora to pick another – but because I had another color with me, I didn’t. The one I lost was my favorite color but I’ve managed to go without that color for over a week now simply because my new mantra is ‘we’re in a recession!’ every time I’m tempted to shop, LOL.
maybe now that i’m making some “grownup money” i should check into cosmetics. a year ago, i’d never have thought i’d consider $20 lipgloss. but if it’s THAT hot… LOL!
