I’m 28 and just started realizing the importance that money and finances play in my life. Credit cards in college (and my lack of responsibility/knowledge) ruined my credit and I’m starting to take action to repair it. It seems like I have a lot to do but it feels good to know that maybe by the time I’m 30 I will be in a much better place. In January I started a budget and also started recording all my purchases . . . it’s amazing what sort of awareness that has brought me!

Taxes filed, refund received, 1/2 all ready applied to immediately owed debt. (still not enough to stop the collectors from callin *sigh*) I have placed all of my debts and bills on myYodlee.com to affirm what I all ready know–I am about 30,0000 in debt on a barely 18,000 / yr income. *WOO SAAAA* I AM however, going to get my hur did with some of this refund as that is one of the things that I have let go. (what Sista you know really WANTS to go around lookin bad in the head?)

Well, our taxes went up for at least the third time in five years. I think the taxes now equal the mortgage payment. Our taxes are seperate from our mortgage. My bills are paid, but a few were put into time accounts because I don’t have the chunk to pay them. On the good side I am not spending credit, only cash. :-)

Hey singlema!

This has not been a good week for me financially!
I did my Taxes (I owe $800 between state and federal), did my FAFSA (likely won’t get jack, even though my parents nor I make very much!), and to top it all off, I accidentally paid a bill early and overdrafted my checking acct! (lucky for me I called BofA and they were kind enough to reverse the THIRTY FIVE dollar fee)

However, tomorrow is sunday, and church day usually = good day, I get paid wed, and got a lot done this week, so it’s not all bad huh? :P
