Taking One for the Team
Due to an unexpected incident that occurred on the C.S.S. last week, Single Ma was thrown into REactive mode, as opposed to the preferred, organized and carefully planned PROactive mode. Your girl was shook! I don’t think I’ve ever been caught off guard like that before. A whirlwind of emotions took over my thoughts and wanted to dictate my actions, but common sense kept me grounded. Past experience has proven that unexpected events can be learning experiences, and if handled properly, they also result in personal and professional growth.
Those who know the real Single Ma also know that I’m strategic by nature and will NOT allow a weak pawn to check my king. So I maintained my emotions, which allowed me to take control of the driver’s seat. I’ve spent the past few days trying to figure out how to address the issue diplomatically, express my concerns with the appropriate authorities, and evaluate the potential impact to my career. But for S&G, if all else failed, I also prepared an exit plan. Despite how this affects me, I’m determined to protect my staff and make sure it doesn’t happen again.
Because of this situation, I haven’t had time to finish “Embracing the Real World” or prepare the book review. Hopefully, we’ll be back to our regularly scheduled program next week.

You are right to take a step back so that you can look past that initial emotional whammo. Your analytical and calm approach will take you through it as a winner no matter what the outcome

Handle it, girl! I am sure the review is worth the wait…as are you.
Good luck! I can only imagine the situation, but not even knowing the real you, I know you come out with all 9 of your lives intact.
