Random Fabulosity

It’s late. Burning the midnight oil again and I’ve had too much coffee. Now I can’t sleep. Dang! So I guess I’ll subject you all to my random thoughts. :P

  1. I’m so excited about this work project. This will be the first assignment I’ve completed in a management capacity. I’ve learned so much in the past 7 months. I miss my old job, but I’m glad I decided to move on.
  2. My performance eval didn’t happen today (Thursday). I was too busy and my boss forgot. We’ll have to reschedule for…err…umm…
  3. I called BabyGirl on her cell phone while she was at school and it was confiscated. Oops! She’s mad at me now. *shrug*
  4. Why did the vice principal call me at 8:30 PM to ask if her phone was returned as requested? We had a lengthy conversation, as usual. About a little bit of everything and nothing at all.
  5. BabyGirl thinks VP likes me. He makes up reasons to call. BabyGirl heard VP talking about me to another administrator. Every time VP calls and we talk for a long time, BabyGirl eavesdrops on the conversation. BabyGirl is worried that I will date VP. HA HA HA
  6. Mama thinks VP is attractive, but mama aint interested. Mama is focused on the eye candy at work. Which, by the way, is still as scrumptious as ever. All I keep thinking to myself is, “this project is al-most over!” Lord, if you’re reading, I’ve learned enough patience already. Ok? Please have mercy on me and let your will be done. K’thanks! :-)
  7. Building relationships is extremely important. When you have allies, it makes dealing with a difficult situation easier. In a span of 48 hours, I received assistance from a medical professional, a legal professional, a management consultant, a law enforcement officer, and an administrator. Due to the relationships I’ve developed with these individuals over time, they all delivered a product (or service) at my request, which will become extremely helpful to resolving a pending problem in the near future.
  8. I’ll admit, I don’t know all the answers. But I bet ya I can find someone who has whatever expertise I lack. Sometimes having resources is more valuable than knowledge.
  9. I’m beginning to experience the benefits of having a financial advantage. Money really is power. Because money is not a primary concern when making decisions, I have more options to do what’s in the best interest of my family. Those who have less money may feel limited or powerless.
  10. I’m not going home for Christmas. This makes year 3. The first year, my excuse was: I was sick. True story. The second year, my excuse was: my first Christmas in my first house. True story. This year, I don’t have an excuse…yet. I’ll think of something by the 22nd. Not sure if it’ll be a true story though. Hmm…
  11. Is it wrong to buy gifts for your ‘favorite’ staff members and give holiday cards to everyone else? LOL There are three people who save my butt every single time. Two in particular are usually putting out fires before I even realize they exist. I have to show my extra appreciation somehow.
  12. I need a new haircut with highlights to start the new year.
  13. I’ve never disclosed my age on this blog and my birthday is coming up soon. Wanna know how old I will be? I’ll give you a hint. I’m still sexy!! HA HA
  14. My boss is cool peoples. Now that I think about it, I’ve always had cool bosses. How did I get so lucky?
  15. There’s something in every one of them that I want to emulate. Most important, establishing trust with my staff. Open communication. And having a reputation for being fair.
  16. I feel powerful in a suit and heels. Any suit. Any color. As long as it fits properly. I’m attracted to the same. A man in a well tailored suit and nice shoes. Picture that. We’d make one hell of a power couple! Ha!
  17. I want to sell my investment property. I always thought I would keep it but I recently changed my mind. The lease is up in June and I want it gone by July. I’ve already spoken to my friend, an agent, and asked him to sell it for me. He lives in the same community and knows the market well.
  18. I just realized something. I have a personal contact in almost every profession.
  19. If BabyGirl doesn’t do well on her interim reports, to be mailed Dec 19th, she’s not getting anything for Christmas. Why does everyone think I’m playing when I say this? I am SO serious.
  20. My dog sleeps in BabyGirl’s room, which is on the other side of the house. But why is she in MY room and staring at me with her head cocked to the side? Looking like she wants to say “would you turn this f***ing light off!”

Ha! I guess that’s my cue.

Hey there – fabulous list, the coffee is doing wonders!

I think you are well within rights to gift the few who have gone above and beyond, so long as you acknowledge the masses…

Oh, and good luck on working the eye candy rewards.

I agree with selling the rental. Too many things can (and did) go wrong. If you need more support, go to Millionaire Mommy Next Door, and use any one of her 5 gazillion resources on renting vs. buying.

It’s a good move to put that money in a better investment, which is pretty much anything. You can buy later when you plan to stay in a house.

Even if it feels like you aren’t getting the best deal, as Dave Ramsey would say, “To heck with the cheese, let me out of the trap.”

I think it might be a good idea to take those treasured co workers out for a good meal.

WHY is the vice principal calling you at 8:30 at night? Yeah he like you. LOL After I read that, I didn’t “hear” nothing else.

      Hmmm
      33 or 34, I’d guess.

@ jeanie – I’m ‘working’ on it alright. LOL Thanks for the well wishes.

@ vicki – I read MMND all the time. Thanks. I have my reasons for wanting to sell and it has nothing to do with the crappy market. The responsibility of owning a rental just doesn’t fit well with my new goals to achieve financial freedom.

@ serenity – Nope, no red shoes. :-( Our Christmas party was Wednesday and it was wack. I mean so wack, red shoes would have been a topic of conversation.

B-day agenda? None yet. I have something brewing but nothing definite. Come on up!

      @ Athena – Good idea.

@ Aly – I wonder the same. He always have a valid excuse/reason. I think it’s cute though. At least I know someone is looking out for my daughter while she’s in school. LOL

      @ learning – Very close. :-)
