Another Milestone, Another Year, Single Ma - Part II

As of today, 18 December 2007, I’ve been blogging for two whole years. Man, it sure doesn’t feel like it’s been that long since I’ve written my very first post. Two years ago, I said:

“As I embark on this new journey, I hope to get more organized, learn new things, become financially savvy, and [hopefully] inspire and help others along the way.”

They say hindsight is 20/20, but if I didn’t know any better, I’d think I was psychic. LOL Two years man, two years. *reminiscing* And a full 12 months since I celebrated my first blogoversary. Wow! Anything else would have fallen off my radar by now, so I must really enjoy this blogging thing. I have to admit though, my financial life has improved substantially because of it. Let’s see what I’ve accomplished in the past year. We’ll call it SINGLE MA - PART II:

Personal Achievements

I achieved DEBT FREEDOM baby!

  • Paid off my car loan in June.
  • Paid off my student loans in November.
  • Always pay my credit card balance(s) in full.

Landed a new gig.

Moved to a new city/state.

Achieved almost all of my 2007 goals.

New goals for 2008.

  • Net Worth: $250,000 (2 yrs).
  • Increase e-Fund to $15,000.
  • Max out 401k and IRA.
  • Build wealth through non-retirement investments.
  • Sell investment property.
  • Take a two week vacation.
  • Explore new things that make life worth living.

Blogging Achievements

* According to technorati: there are 842 reactions to my blog and I rank 18,300 out of millions.

* According to site meter, I’ve had over 375,000 visitors (3.8x last year) and 551,600 page views (3x last year).

* According to feedburner, I have nearly 700 registered readers.

* My blog has been featured in several ‘best of’ lists including, but not limited to:

* Some consider my blog a resource for personal development.

* I’ve also been voted a Rockin Girl Blogger.

* Between multiple sources, I earn hundreds per month from blogging. Not bad considering I only post 4-6x per week.

* I’ve been presented with several freelance writing offers throughout the year, but for one reason or another, turned them all down. However, I recently accepted an offer to write for Work It, Mom!. Without a doubt, this one was different from all the rest. It embodies everything that is Single Ma…a working mom who seeks financial freedom and work/life balance. Expect to hear more about this later.

Love to My Blog Fam

After two years of blogging, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting a select few:

Mapgirl - we’ve been shopping together! She’s actually been to my house AND met my two babies: BabyGirl and Precious!

Debt Hater - we work down the street from each other!

Serenity 3-0 - we’ve been shopping together too…SHOE shopping nonetheless!

Although I missed out on the last excursion, I look forward to meeting BK Diva and HC at our next wine tasting event. Maybe we can add skiing to the agenda for January? Hmm…

For the rest of you who read Single Ma’s Fabulous Financials everyday, especially those who have been reading from the very beginning (always a special shout out to Cocoa Girl who no longer blogs but keep in touch), I thank you. Although I have a tendency of talking to myself often, this blog would be nothing without readers. Your feedback is priceless. So thank you for your daily encouragement, your comments, your emails, your phone calls, and most importantly - your friendship.

And to the straggling haters, I got love for you too. There’s probably about 2 or 3 that I know of, which means I have room for (at least) 17 more. *clearing out space “beneath” me* Keep ‘em coming baby ’cause you make me BETTER! Ha!

If you’re new to SMFF, welcome! Kick back and hang out for a while, so you too can become financially fabulous. To make sure you don’t miss a thing, subscribe to my feed or register to receive email notifications when I publish new content.

Here’s to 2008 and more fabulosity in Single Ma - Part III!

Oorah! I make the top of the list for your blogfam. YAY!

Thanks for being my blogfam big sis with Madame X and BostonGal. (Arguably they are my blogfam grandmother and mother for inspiring me to start writing in the first place.)

You are always a trip to talk to and inspiring for your hard work and personal success. I am so grateful we had a chance to meet in person and think the other wasn’t just a little bit weird for being a blogger. :-)

Here’s to two more years of FABULOUS blogging!
