Dating, Career, Financial Planning, and Wealth Mentality

Y’all would NOT believe the crazy things that have happened to me this week. Aww hell, within the last 24 hours! I mean simply mind boggling! I’m now faced with a decision that needs to be made by COB Monday and I’m thoroughly confused. Due to the last career move, I’m at a different level so these types of discussions are all new to me. Ironically, NONE of my mentors are available to meet with me and NONE of my friends can help me figure it out. So I’ve resorted to my mother’s words of wisdom…

If you don’t know what to do, just be still.
–Inspired by Mark 4:39 (KJV)

When I’m ready, I’ll be a big girl and sort through the details all on my own. If an opportunity is missed, then it wasn’t meant for me. *shrug* Until then, here’s a brief glimpse into my world via several articles that I found particularly interesting this week.

Who pays on the first date? [Barbara Stanny]
When it comes to dating, I’m a little old fashioned so you can probably guess what my answer would be.

How to sell yourself. [PickTheBrain]
Why selling yourself is vital to your career.

A complete framework for financial planning.
[World of Wealth]
If you’re just beginning a journey towards financial freedom, here’s an interesting summary of personal finance milestones to help you create a battle plan.

Don’t be afraid of the Big Bad Debt. [Clever Dude]
Why is talking about finances so taboo? It’s just money. Talk about it, especially debt, so you can overcome the shackles and get on with your life.

7 characteristics of rich people. [Amacama]
There are distinct differences between the rich and poor. Believe it or not, it has less to do with money and more to do with how you think.

10 traits of of underearners. [Barbara Stanny]
An excerpt from her new book, Overcoming Underearning, Ms. Stanny describes the self defeating traits of underearners - further proving the power in the way you THINK.

Mentors/friends can’t help? Ironic? Nope. Orchestrated by “the Big Guy”? Yep.

My gram was famous for the “be still” advice. Ironically enough, I got “be still” this week too.

    Great links!

I’m an underearner, and I honestly think I’m better than a lot of the people getting hired - I don’t think I’m inferior or anything like that, so I don’t see what’s wrong with the way I think.
