This is Why I Blog

I’ve been blogging for almost 2 years, but I’ve considered quitting many times in the past 6 months. It’s not that fun anymore because I feel obligated to stay on topic…personal finance. I know, I know, this shyt gets boring to me sometimes too! LOL And real life often interferes with my blogging time. The nerve! *shock* But my FABULOUS readers keep me going when you share emails like this:

Single Ma -

I would like to share with you, as I am excited….and there is no one to get excited with me, my family looks at me strangely when I get excited about these things, they have no idea!

Freedommmmmm…freedommmmm……..(sing it with me, girl….!)

In August, I got an unexpected bonus check….not a huge amount, but enough to make a difference in my life…

I did not run out and buy something with it.

I did not run to the store and get that flat panel HDTV I want SO badly (just in time for football season, I might add) …..I did not buy a new fridge, though it would be nice, I did not buy that plane ticket to Vegas that someone was whispering in my ear about…..AND…..I did not get new work clothes…..

WHY do you ask? WHY did I not go out and spend it?

Because, Single Ma……your Girl has been re-born, if you will…..not in a new Christian way, but in a new FINANCIAL WAY……..I have a new attitude!
FREE of my sins AND FREE of my DEBT!!!

I took that money, and I paid off that dern Sears Card! The one with a $900-something balance, the one that was charging me almost 30% interest and was a thorn in my side! The thorn has been removed!

Which means, in August, I threw a total of $1390.16 at my debt !!!!!!!!!!!!!

CAN I GET AN AMEN?!!

There are more thorns to remove, but I walk a little lighter today, knowing I can now throw that Sears money at another debt!

Thank you for your support and inspiration…

I think an Amen, Hallelujah, Praises, and Boom Shakalaka are ALL in order. LMAO! You go ‘head wit ya bad self!! I’m so happy and soooo proud of you. Now lemme hold $5? HA HA HA

The reader asked to remain anonymous, so I couldn’t celebrate their accomplishments the way I wanted. But we’ve chatted extensively in email, so they know how truly proud of them I am. This is living proof that changing your mindset can put you on the path of financial success.

Congrats again and thanks for sharing!

Congrats on paying off that debt! I know Sears was MAD at you…you’re cutting into their profits now that they can’t make that 30% off of you anymore, hehe.

      congrats!!!!

I love reading stuff like this. In a virtual sense, we are all in the same struggle together when it comes to personal finance.

I may not be where you guys are…but i’m in pretty good company around here and when blessings flow…some might just splash my way!

I picture it as walking in line together and somebody further up in the line is doing the happy dance. I’m happy too, cause when i advance up that way…i’ll be dancing as well.

      This is great news!

Congratulations to that reader! That’s fantastic!

30% interest would be a thorn in anyone’s side. I’m so glad this person is free of that.

This is outstanding! Both for the reader and for you. It took stick-to-it-ive-ness for the reader to bypass all the stuff she could have bought to fulfill her promise to pay for stuff she already has. I’m so proud of her! Congratulations!!!

But Single Ma, you’re the catalyst that got me to blog financially, and every day, it helps. If you want to blog about something else here, create more categories and go for it (or do like I do and have another blog on the side!)

      Congratulations to your reader!
And to you: To inspire someone to embrace a whole new mindset for the better just by sharing your personal example, that’s truly sharing your blessings. You’re teaching everyone to fish ;)

      Single Ma:

To beat the PF blogging blues, consider expanding your topics to include things that are peripheral to PF. eg: responsible shopping and buying of luxury goods, changes in health and stress because of better money management, changes in relationships with friends and family because of having more disposable income, retirement dreams. You get the idea. Keep blogging!!

      Boom Shakalaka ……….LOL

Single Ma is my hero– a black educated women with money !!!!

Throwing money at debt is always smart. Smart choice that person made.

I have to agree with you, when people feel that you are making a difference in their life, you gotta love it.:)

I read you way more than I comment but you are definitely an inspiration to me. This morning I thought – I must deal with this because I keep ending up in the same situations and I’m tired.

Jsut got off the phone with the local council who have sticked me with a £46 administration fee for something that was caused by my bank.

Thank you for being such an inspiration to us all and I’m really proud of that reader! It’s possible…….

      LMAO @ shin kicking.

Girl you inspire me everyday. My Shero!

Keep blogging. God has blessed you with the ability to change and inspire people.

I don’t mind non-PF posts. So whenever you feel like it then go on ahead.
