My God Did His Thizzle!!!

I GOT THE JOB!!!!

Quick synopsis: I interviewed a few weeks ago, then an unexpected chain of events occurred, got discouraged, started second guessing myself, immediately uplifted by my fabulous friends (THANK YOU!!), dropped to my knees, prayed for His will to be done, and let it go. Decided to refocus on current work project, motivate my team to pick up the pieces that keep falling apart, prep for biz trip, reconnect with loved ones I’ve been neglecting (EXTRA THANK YOU!!), and finalize plans for BabyGirl’s summer activities. Ya know, busy myself.

In essence, what I did was show Him that His will is more important than MY wants, show Him that I was walking in faith and not by sight, completely removed myself from the situation and out of His way, gave Him total control. Lawd bejeebus, my God showed out y’all! He did his thizzle yo!!

I’ve only shared the specific details with a select few because things were NOT looking good. I wanted the job but I didn’t want it THAT bad to compromise certain ‘must haves.’ I asked for what I wanted and just KNEW they would move on to the next candidate. I have no idea what changed between now and then, but I received the final call and they want ya girl on their team. WHAAAAAA? Lawd my head has been spinning ever since! It’s a tentative offer, still a few kinks to work out (e.g. exec meet/greet, relocation pkg, start date, etc.), but it’s a done deal and I’m psyched!!!

Sometimes I can’t believe the things that happen in my life. I couldn’t make this stuff up if I tried. I told God He better stop playing with me. Ha! If you know Him, I’m sure you also know He can be funny like that. LOL Some of you know me personally - you know what I’ve been through, what I’ve overcome, what inspires me, and what I do for a living. Some of you have watched me grow, shared my disappointments and have been there to celebrate my joy. I love you for sharing my ups and downs. All of you! Through the good AND the bad, there is no doubt…

I. AM. SIMPLY. BLESSED.

So please bear with me while I take this all in. I should warn you though. In my next post, I will take a moment to brag again. Not about my BabyGirl. Not about me. No, not about my fabulosity - you already know that. Ha! Not about the new job. Not about the money - or anything financial related for that matter. But I need to take a moment to brag about my Father. My Father God. I have to publicly give Him ALL the HONOR, ALL the GLORY, and ALL the PRAISE. I won’t get preachy on ya, but I need to share my testimony.

HE. IS. ABSOLUTELY. AMAZING!!

*thinking* I’m officially in the six figure club. Aaaack!!! LOL

Peace & Blessings

I love this bible verse. I live my life believing in it entirely. God is definitely good ma. I don’t know you that well but I am positive that all these blessings that God has bestowed upon you are well deserved. My Father doesn’t make mistakes. LOL.

    Wishing you continued blessings.

  36. Single Ma, 31 March 2007, 9:52

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Yes, I do know the source of my blessings. I’m just a vessel He is using for a “purpose” I haven’t quite figured out yet.

As for relocation, yes I will move for two reasons: 1) I want my daughter in a better school district and 2) the commute would be way too much. Same state but the location is over 50 miles from my current place of employment. I will keep my house as investment property because selling with new construction still ongoing is very difficult. The new employer will help me find another home and pay expenses (TBD) associated with the move.

A better school district, a second chance at choosing a better neighborhood (at my employer’s expense was an unexpected bonus), a promotion, AND more $$. Jeeeeesus!! *faint*

  37. CreoleInDC, 1 April 2007, 10:33

Can I get my fifty cents yet?

  38. HC, 2 April 2007, 8:11

    Congratulations!

I know it is absolutely deserved, and I hope the transition goes as smoothly as possible.

  39. Cali_Mom, 2 April 2007, 10:37

Congrats!!! GOD is GOOD! I’m normally a daily lurker who doesn’t miss a day of posts. Your testimony brought me out of lurkdom and I wanted to join in your shout “PRAISE HIM”. I went through something similar in June 2006. I moved across country with my family for a new job oppurtunity. We used greatschools.net to locate the best school district and moved to that area. We haven’t purchased yet as we wanted to see if we would love the area. That’s our goal for 2008.

  40. financial freedumb, 26 April 2007, 2:01

Single Ma, Congratulations! Wishing you the best in your new career.
