One Goal Down…

As of today, TUESDAY - 28 FEBRUARY 2005, SingleMa reached her emergency fund savings goal of $10,000!! YAAYYYYY!! *doin the runnin man* LOL I plan to invest it in short term, low risk instruments like CDs, MM, and high yield savings accts. Now I can start working on funding my Roth and buying things for the new house. I’ll post more details tomorrow on HOW I achieved this one of the many goals I have yet to reach for 2006.

I also need to add that I received another small salary increase and a very nice but unexpected bonus in my paycheck last week. I guess the little seed I planted after talking with my boss a few weeks ago actually made a difference. Now dats wassup! He’s a cool cat and I’m happy to know that he values my work. I like him and the people I work with (most of the time anyway) but one can never get too comfortable. I luv my job but a sista gotta stay focused and on point. The increase was nice but it’s still short of my 2006 salary goals. Some may think 20% is a bit much to expect in one year, but I like to reach for the stars baby! I’m on a mission so I’m about to get my politickin on! I’m always networking with my eyes/ears open for opportunities. The resume stays polished!

So that’s one and possible with 947,239,847 goals to go.
HA HA man I miss playing spades, but like my baby daddy said (whew! with his fine self) “Today Was A Good Day.” :-)

Peace & Blessings

I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOProud of you SIS !! 10K YOU GO GIRL ! ( doing the runnin man for you !) Wow really Im so proud of you ! Go Singlemom its your birthday ..

Anywho.. about your comment about the book - I agree its isnt very specfic- that book is a starter book- its meant to ignite something within the reader. Readers that dont already think that way. Yes for someone like you and I we need more details.. but there are other books out there for that . I recommended the book because its a good foundation to start with , realizing that you dont have to work for the rest of your life..

HE also has one called ” How to retire young and rich.. havent read that yet but will let you know how that is..

Again CONGRATS GIRL ! I wish you were in the city you would be my new best friend cause you are the type of sistas I want to hang around

“it’s your birthday we gonna party like its your birthday……”

Awww, thanks girl! That’s why I said you should move to the DC area. We could party, shop, raise some financially savvy divas in training and swap ideas to get rich together!

I agree, it is a starter book but I can’t deny the inspiration it gives you. Understanding fundamentals of money is the key to financial success. I’ve never read the other book, but let me know what you think then I’ll check it out.

I also have his game called “Cash Flow.” They also have “Cash Flow for Kids.” It’s like a modern day monopoly with a twist. It shows you how decisions we make with money keeps us in the rat race and what we can do to get out. My friends and I play it about once a month, and it’s actually fun.

    Congratulations!

I thought about you last night while watching the State of the Black Union. There was a lot of talk about Americans in general, particularly Blacks, focusing more on spending than on investing. I believe that statistic was we (Americans) spend $1.22 for every $1.00 we make.

Anyways, I was like SingleMom shoulda been on the panel! They were speaking your language.
